REFUND TO START FROM 27TH MAY AT PRS COUNTERS OF NOMINATED STATIONS OVER MUMBAI DIVISION OF WESTERN RAILWAY
For the convenience of passengers, the Indian Railways has decided to restore passengers services in a phased manner with 100 pairs of trains starting from 1st June, 2020. Continuing with this decision, the functioning of selected Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters at nominated stations has also been re-started with effect from 22nd May, 2020. Now, Western Rly has also decided to re-start the refund of PRS train tickets of cancelled trains due to lockdown. Accordingly, in Mumbai division of WR, passengers will be able to get their refund of PRS tickets w.e.f. 27th May, 2020.

According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, over Mumbai Division of Western Railway, PRS counters are being operated at 6 stations i.e. Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Vasai Road, Valsad, Surat and Nandurbar from 22nd May, 2020 for passengers to book reserved tickets in special trains through cash or through Point of Sale (POS) machines. In addition to these, PRS counters will also be operated at 3 more locations at Andheri, Borivali and Vapi stations with effect from 27th May, 2020.
Shri Bhakar added that in continuation to this, it has also been decided that the refund of PRS tickets for the journey of trains cancelled between 22nd March, 2020 to 30th June, 2020 will be granted as per below schedule:

It’s worth mentioning that passengers can avail the refund within 180 days from the date of journey as stipulated by the Railways. Passengers are advised not to rush to avail refund against cancelled trains and avoid overcrowding by following social distancing norms and health protocols.
