Flagging off of Inaugural Run of Anantapur – New Delhi Kisan Rail (Through Video Link)

Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayatraj, Government of India and Shri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will flag off the Inaugural Run of Anantapur – New Delhi Kisan Rail (Through Video Link) at 10.30 am on 9th September, 2020. The Program will be presided over by Shri Suresh C. Angadi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Government of India.

Shri Parshottam Rupala, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India Shri Kailash Choudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India; Shri B. Satyanarayana, Hon’ble Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development and Anantapur District In-charge Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Shri M. Sankaranarayana, Hon’ble Minister for Roads & Buildings, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Shri T. Rangaiah, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Anantapur; Shri V. Gopal Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council and Shri A. Venkatarami Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Anantapur Urban will also participate. The function will also be attended by other public representatives, dignitaries and senior railway officials through virtual program.

Brief about Anantapur – New Delhi Kisan Rail

The India’s second and South India’s first Kisan Train is planned to commence its inaugural run from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh to Adarsh Nagar in New Delhi on 09th September 2020. It is planned to flag-off the inaugural at 11:00 am on 09th September through video link. Anantapur is developing as Horticultural hub of Andhra Pradesh. A major portion of the fruits and vegetables produced in Anantapur are transported out of the state. Starting a Kisan Rail will be particularly helpful in benefitting the small farmers and traders in marketing their product across the country in a safe, economical and speedy manner.
