Bharat Darshan Special Tourist Train – GANDHI TOURIST SPECIAL TRAIN FROM IRCTC
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (A Govt. of India enterprise) as part of the Centenary of arrival of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to India, the preacher of non violence and the arrival of “Ähimsa” to the world has programmed and launched an exclusive tourist train from Madurai on 30.09.2015 on a 6 day tour covering Historical Sites in Delhi linked to Mahatma Gandhi and visit to Agra.The special tourist train embarks on a mission to rekindle the ideas and philosophies of the father of the nation.Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi returned to India from South Africa along with his wife Kasturba on January 9, 1915.
The Gandhi Special tourist train from Madurai has been routed via Dindigul – Karur – Erode – Salem, Katpadi – and Chennai as boarding stations facilitating the public with emphasis on students across various cities / towns to board the tourist train.The special tourist train helps students realize the pain staking efforts by our leaders who gave their yesterday for a better tomorrow for us all.Parents and teachers are highly encouraged to make use of this opportunity to inspire student about the legends of this Great Nation.
This exclusively tourist special has a separate Pantry car to cater South Indian Vegetarian Food.Each coach has a tour escort and a Security and Coaches are equipped with PA system for announcement and tour related discourses.The Package tour organized by IRCTC includes dormitory accommodation during night stays planned and NAC buses are arranged for transfers and sightseeing.The entire tour lasts for 6 days and the all inclusive packages cost is Rs.4970/- per head.Attractive discounts will be offered for the college and school students who travel in groups.
