Western Railway Announced the Revision Of SPEEDING UP OF MAINLINE TRAINS , CHANGE IN TRAIN NO. , AMALGAMATION OF TRAINS , CHANGE OF TERMINAL OF TRAINS ,SPEEDING UP OF TRAINS WITH EFFECT FROM 1st OCTOBER 2015

Western Railway’s esteemed passengers can have cheers o­n their faces this festive season, all thanks to the major initiatives to be introduced by Western Railway and to be implemented from 1stOctober, 2015. Shri G. C .Agrawal, General Manager of Western Rly, released the new Western Zone Time Table in an event at W.Rly’s Headquarters office, Churchgate o­n Tuesday, 29th Sept, 2015.

This new Western Zone Time Table has been published by Western Railway and comprises of the  Main Line train time table and information pertaining to four zones – Western, Central, North West & West Central Railway. o­n this occasion, Shri Agrawal briefed the salient features and new initiatives incorporated in the new time table and various o­ngoing and futuristic rail projects. He also interacted o­n several important rail related issues. Shri A.K. Shrivastava-Chief Operations Manager; Shri C.P. Sharma-Chief Commercial Manager; Shri Anirudh Jain-Chief Administrative Officer (Construction); Shri Udai Shukla-Chief Security Commissioner of Western Railway; Shri Shailendra Kumar-Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division and other senior railway officers were also present o­n this occasion.

W.Rly, in its attempt to speed up its trains for a convenient and comfortable journey has hauled up its services, so that everyone can enjoy the good tidings of the festive season. Some of the salient features for enhancing the travel experience are highlighted below. To meet the needs of passengers and provide better convenience, certain changes have been made to the long distance trains in the Time Table coming into effect from 1st October, 2015. These changes are as follows:

SPEEDING UP OF MAIN LINE TRAINS:

  • A total of 42 trains have been speeded up over WR with the time frame ranging from 2.35 hours to 10 minutes. Special noteworthy to mention are the following premier trains:
  • 12951 Mumbai Central – New Delhi Rajdhani Expressspeeded up by 25 minutes, as it will depart at 17.00 hrs instead of 16.35 hrs ex. Mumbai Central.
  • 12952 New Delhi – Mumbai Central Rajdhani Expressspeeded up by 20 minutes, as it will depart ex. New Delhi at its regular time of 16.25 hrs and will reach Mumbai Central at 08.15 hrs instead of 08.35 hrs.
  • 12954 H. Nizamuddin – Mumbai Central A. K. Rajdhani Expressspeeded up by 15 minutes, as it will depart ex. H. Nizamuddin at its regular time of 16.50 hrs and will reach Mumbai Central at 09.45 hrs instead of 10.00 hrs.
  • 12009 Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad Shatabdi Expressspeeded up by 25 minutes, as it will depart ex. Mumbai Central at its regular time of 06.25 hrs and will reach Ahmedabad at 12.45 hrs instead of 13.10 hrs.
  • 12010 Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central Shatabdi Expressspeeded up by 25 minutes, as it will depart at 14.40 hrs instead of 14.30 hrs ex. Ahmedabad and will reach Mumbai Central at 21.20 hrs instead of 21.35 hrs.
  • 12971 Bandra Terminus – Bhavnagar Expressspeeded up by 30 minutes, as it will depart ex. Bandra Terminus at its regular time of 21.30 hrs and will reach Bhavnagar at 10.35 hrs instead of 11.05 hrs.

The following 13 trains speeded up by 60 minutes and more:

  • 19050 Patna – Bandra Terminus Express  speeded up by 105 minutes
  • 16333 Veraval – Trivandrum Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 65 minutes
  • 16335 Gandhidham – Nagercoil Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 90 minutes
  • 16337 Okha – Ernakulam Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 105 minutes
  • 19260 Bhavnagar – Kochuveli Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 95 minutes
  • 16311 Bikaner – Kochuveli Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 78 minutes
  • 19577 Tirunelveli –  Hapa Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 60 minutes
  • 19311 Pune – Indore Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 80 minutes
  • 19453 Gandhidham  – Puri Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 60 minutes
  • 19454 Puri – Gandhidham  Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 2 hrs 35 minutes
  • 16502 Yeshwantpur – Ahmedabad Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 75 minutes
  • 19418 Allahabad – Ahmedabad Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 80 minutes
  • 19058 Varanasi – Udhna Express speeded by 60 minutes.

The following trains have also been speeded up for convenience of passengers :

  • 11453 Ahmedabad – Nagpur Prerna Express speeded up by 45 minutes
  • 12833 Ahmedabad – Howrah Express speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 19119 Ahmedabad – Somnath Express speeded up by 10 minutes
  • 12937 Gandhidham – Howrah Garbha Express speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 19152 Gandhidham – Palanpur Express speeded up by 30 minutes
  • 17203 Bhavnagar – Kakinada Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 15 minutes
  • 16613 Rajkot – Coimbatore Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 10 minutes
  • 17017 Rajkot – Secunderabad Express  (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 10 minutes
  • 19202 Porbandar – Secunderabad Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 15 minutes.
  • 12905 Porbandar – Howrah Super Fast Express speeded up by 15 minutes
  • 19568 Okha – Tuticorn Vivek Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 10 minutes
  • 16734 Okha – Rameshwaram Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 15 minutes
  • 22908 Hapa – Madgaon Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 19261 Kochuveli – Porbandar Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 40 minutes
  • 16336 Nagercoil – Gandhidham Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 16506 Bengaluru City – Gandhidham Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 19201 Secunderabad – Porbandar Express (Via Vasai Road) speeded up by 15 minutes
  • 12994 Puri – Gandhidham Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 12656 Chennai Central – Ahmedabad Navjeevan Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 15 minutes
  • 19052 Muzaffarpur – Valsad Shramik Express speeded up by 15 minutes
  • 18501 Vishakhapatnam – Gandhidham Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 20 minutes
  • 18401 Puri – Okha Express (Via Surat) speeded up by 10 minutes
  • 15668 Kamakhya – Gandhidham Express speeded up by 40 minutes

CHANGE IN STATUS TO SUPERFAST TRAIN WITH CHANGE IN TRAIN NO.:

19312/19311 Indore  – Pune  – Indore Express (Via Vasai Road) will be changed from ORDINARY EXPRESS to SUPERFAST EXPRESS w.e.f 1st October, 2015. Its train number will also change from 19312 Indore – Pune Express to 22944 Indore – Pune Superfast Express w.e.f  6th January, 2016. Similarly, in return direction its train number will change from 19311 Pune – Indore Express to 22943 Pune – Indore Superfast Express w.e.f 7th January, 2016.

REVISION OF TIMINGS TO MEET THE DEMAND OF EARLY ARRIVAL AT DESTINATION STATIONS:

The timings of 12971 / 12972 Bandra (T) – Bhavnagar – Bandra (T) Express has been revised to meet the demand of early arrival at Bhavnagar and Bandra Terminus. 12971 will arrive Bhavnagarat 10.35 hrs instead of 11.05 hrs and o­n return side, 12972 will arrive Bandra Terminus at 08.40 hrs instead of 10.20 hrs.

COMMERCIAL HALTS TO DURONTO EXPRESS TRAINS:

Additional Commercial stoppages have been provided to Duronto Express trains over various stations of WR for the convenience of passengers, with no changes in its original timings. Details regarding the stoppages are as follows:

  • 22209 Mumbai Central – New Delhi AC Duronto Express leaving Mumbai Central from 01.01.2016 o­nwards will halt atVadodara, Ratlam & Kota.
  • 22210 New Delhi – Mumbai Central AC Duronto Express leaving New Delhi from 02.01.2016 o­nwards will halt atKota, Ratlam & Vadodara.
  • 12227 Mumbai Central – Indore AC Duronto Express leaving Mumbai Central from 31.12.2015 o­nwards will halt atVadodara, Ratlam & Ujjain.
  • 12228 Indore – Mumbai Central AC Duronto Express leaving Indore from 01.01.2016 o­nwards will halt atUjjain, Ratlam &Vadodara.
  • 12239 Mumbai Central – Jaipur AC Duronto Express leaving Mumbai Central from 03.01.2016 o­nwards will halt atVadodara, Ratlam & Sawai Madhopur.
  • 12240 Jaipur – Mumbai Central AC Duronto Expressleaving Jaipur from 05.01.2016 o­nwards will halt at Sawai Madhopur, Ratlam &Vadodara.
  • 12263 Pune – Hazrat Nizamuddin AC Duronto Express (Via Vasai Road) leaving Pune from 01.01.2016 o­nwards will halt at Lonavala, Vasai Road, Vadodara, Ratlamand Kota.
  • 12264 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Pune AC Duronto Express(Via Vasai Road) leavingHazrat Nizamuddin  from 04.01.2016 o­nwards will halt Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Vasai Road and Lonavala.
  • 12283 Eranakulam Jn –  Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Expressleaving Eranakulam Jn from 05.01.2016 o­nwards will halt Panvel, Vadodara, Ratlamand Kota.
  • 12284 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Eranakulam Jn Duronto Expressleaving Hazrat Nizamuddin from 02.01.2016 o­nwards will halt Kota, Ratlam, Vadodaraand Panvel.

SPEEDING UP OF TRAINS UPTO 130 KMPH:

  • 12951 / 12952 New Delhi – Mumbai Central Rajdhani Express, 12953 /12954 A. K. Rajdhani Express, 12009 / 12010 Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central Shatabdi Express will run at 130 kmph o­n Virar – Godhra & Virar – Ahmedabad sections from 120 kmph, due to improvement in infrastructure. This will help in saving of time by about 20-25 minutes.

INTRODUCTION OF NEW TRAIN:

  • 19063 Udhna – Danapur Bi – Weekly Express introduced w.e.f 25.08.2015 which departs Udhna at 7.20 hrs o­n every Tuesday & Saturday and reaches Danapur at 13.35 hrs. the next day. In Up direction, 19064 Danapur – Udhna Bi – Weekly Express departs Danapur at 16.40 hrs o­n every Wednesday & Sunday and arrives Udhna at 23.40 hrs. the next day.

THE TIMINGS OF PASSENGER TRAINS WHICH ARE EXTENDED:

The timings of the following passenger trains which are extended further  have also been included in the new time – table:

  • Ratlam – Fatehabad Chandrawati Ganj Jn. DEMUextended  uptoIndore
  • Jodhpur – Bhildi Passengerextended uptoPalanpur.

PERMANENT AUGMENTATION OF COACHES:

  • 49 coaches in 33 trains have been permanently augmented.
