Temporary Increase in Platform Ticket Rate during Sankranti Festival Season

In view of the ensuing Sankranti festival season, it is anticipated that there will be huge crowd of rail travellers as well as accompanying non-travellers at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Lingampalli and Begampet Railway Station and Other Major Railway Stations on Secuderabad Division.

In order to regulate the flow of public to enter onto the platforms and to avoid inconvenience to the bonafide passengers and precautionary measure against spread of Corona Virus during the ensuing festive season, the rate of Platform Ticket at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Lingampalli and Begampet Railway Station and Other Major Railway Stations on Secuderabad Division will be increased as detailed below with immediate effect to 20th January, 2022.

Sub: Revision of Platform Ticket Rates

Ministry of Railways has decided to upwardly revise the rate of platform ticket to Rs.10 per ticket from Rs. 5 per ticket. The revised rate of platform ticket will be charged on platform, tickets to be issued from 01.04.2015. Zonal Railways may print the revised tickets on top priority and ensure supply to all stations well in time. Till such time the tickets are printed, the existing stock of tickets may be used with the rate corrected with a stamp. Wherever platform tickets are issued through SPTM & UTS or other machines, their software may also be modified to collect, the revised rate.

2. Further, the power is hereby delegated to Divisional Railway Managers to increase the rate of Platform tickets beyond Rs. 10 to regulate rush at platforms during specific requirements like mela, rally etc. under intimation to this office.

3. Action may be taken to make the required changes in enquiry systems, websites etc.

4. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned immediately for implementation at all stations.

This issue with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
