Indian Railways, in collaboration of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), is operating Bharat Darshan Trains since the year 2005 with different itineraries based on market demand, popularity and operational feasibility. Currently, three dedicated rakes have been provided to IRCTC for operation of these trains. Railways charge IRCTC Mail/Express fare on telescopic basis for entire journey for the carrying capacity of the train escalated by 20% and 50% pantry car charge.
The package tour of Bharat Darshan Trains is one of the most affordable tour currently operated in India and is largely patronised by common man. The passenger tariff is fixed in the range of D800 – 900 + GST per person per day which includes rail and road transportation, accommodation (Dharamshala/dormitory), sightseeing, meals, accidental insurance etc.
